of the 2013 Bevel Summers Prize in Short Fiction

Leah has won an Honorable Mention (essentially third place, after the grand prize and first runner-up places) in the Bevel Summers Prize in Short Fiction for her short story, “Corner to corner, end to end.” The contest is hosted by Shenandoah, the literary journal of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, now in its sixty-third year of publication; and Leah’s piece was chosen from over four hundred submissions. The story received a $50 honorarium and is now published in Shenandoah here. The winners list was featured on the Washington and Lee University website, as well.
