Newsletter blurb:
“Congratulations to Leah Angstman. Her poem “The Gray Lady of the harbor” won the 2013 Nantucket Directory Poetry Contest. She kindly shares it with us below. This contest for poems about the island of Nantucket, MA, awards $250 and publication in the print and online editions of the Nantucket phonebook. The most recent deadline was March 1. “The Gray Lady” is a nickname for the island because of its constant fog. In other news, Leah’s poem, “Salem Witch House,” won an honorable mention in the 2013 Balticon SF Poetry Contest. This contest, sponsored by the Baltimore Science Fiction Society, gives prizes up to $100 for poems with fantasy, horror, or sci-fi themes. The most recent deadline was May 1. Leah found both of these free contests in our newsletter.”

Leah wishes to thank the editors of Winning Writers, and especially Jendi Reiter, for the opportunity to be included.
